Community Strategic Plan
Richmond Valley Council has undertaken a review of its Community Strategic Plan, a document which drives Council's strategies and initiatives over a 10-year period.
To view the Community Strategic Plan and supporting planning documents, see the list at the end of this page. The plan is a revision of extensive community consultation held in the prior planning cycle, 2009 to 2012.
Background and History of the New Plan
Early in 2013, Micromex Research was contracted to conduct two telephone surveys. Residents of the Richmond Valley local government area were randomly chosen to examine their perceptions of lifestyle in the Richmond Valley and the importance they place on Council's services and its performance. In addition, the surveys were made available online to those not randomly selected who wished to have their say. The results of both surveys were taken into account in conjunction with submissions from the general public during the exhibition period, to make changes to the revised plan as more relevant to the current needs of the community.
On Tuesday, 25 June 2013 the Ordinary Meeting of Council adopted the plan and supporting documents. At Council's ordinary meeting on 18 February 2014, the Delivery Program was amended to include Special Rate Variation projects and adopted for submission to IPART. All these documents are available to download from the list of documents at the end of this page.
